Nokia unveils first tablet, new 6-inch Lumia smartphones

(Telecompaper) Nokia has unveiled a range of new large-screen Lumia devices at an event in Abu Dhabi, including its first Windows tablet. The 10.1-inch Lumia 2520 tablet will launch before the holidays at USD 499, initially in the US, UK and Finland, with other markets to follow shortly thereafter. Nokia said the HD display is designed to provide the best outdoor and indoor readability of any tablet. The device also comes with LTE, Wi-Fi, a 6.7MP camera with Zeiss optics and the Windows RT 8.1 operating system. It will come loaded with the exclusive 'Dragons Adventure' game developed with DreamWorks Animation, as well as the new Nokia apps Stroyteller for creating video stories on a map, Video Director to edit videos and an exclusive version of Nokia Music with Mix Radio. Nokia also announced two new 6-inch Lumias, the 1520 and 1320. The larger screen offers room for a third column of tiles on the Windows Phone OS. The 1520 also comes with a 20MP PureView camera, the new Nokia and Nokia Storyteller applications, a 1080p full HD display and four built-in microphones. It will ship before year-end for USD 749 in Hong Kong, Singapore, US, China, UK, France, Germany, Finland and other European markets, with other markets to follow. The mid-range Lumia 1320 features a 720p display as well as the Nokia Camera app. Priced at USD 339, it will target Asian emerging markets initially, such as China and Vietnam China and Vietnam, followed by other Asian markets, India and Europe. The 1320 will be available is expected to start shipping in Q1 2014.
