Town officials are cautiously optimistic new retail stores within the town's commercial corridor on Route 30A will help bridge the gap in sales tax revenues caused by the closing of the Johnstown Walmart. The recent opening of the Runnings store, which took over the location of the old Walmart, as well as the opening of a new CVS and an Advance Auto Parts store, have all helped boost sales tax revenues.
