Cost Overruns, Delays
The outlook for nuclear power in America looks "dismal," according to a report this week in the Wall Street Journal.
The paper reported that Southern Company recently disclosed that expenses tied to its minority share of the Vogtle nuclear power plant in Georgia have escalated by $1.4 billion.
A South Carolina nuclear plant being built by Scana is believed to be two years behind schedule, the paper said.
