Perrysburg bottle-maker Owens-Illinois Inc. announced today that its chief operating officer, Andres Lopez, will take over as chief executive on Jan. 1. Mr. Lopez was named COO in February and was considered by many to be the successor to Mr. Stroucken. He joined the Fortune 500 firm in 1986.
