Environment News Service: New standards to reduce emissions of the greenhouse gas methane, volatile organic compounds and air toxics from the oil and gas industry were issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday.
The proposal is a part of the administration's strategy under President Barack Obama's Climate Action Plan to cut methane emissions from the oil and gas sector by 40 to 45 percent from 2012 levels by 2025.
