(Telecompaper) Global provider of messaging software services Openwave Messaging has acquired Critical Path, a messaging, security, and unified communications supplier. Openwave president and CEO Dave Ratner will continue to lead the company. Openwave will remain headquartered in Redwood City, California. Openwave believes there are a number of synergies between the two companies. Via the Critical Path acquisition Openwave has expanded its installed base, global presence, partner network, and user community, and plans to accelerate the development of new products and services. No financial details related to the transaction have been disclosed.
