Orange, Bouygues extend merger talks

(Telecompaper) Orange announced that its board of directors met on 30 March to discuss the talks regarding a possible consolidation with Bouygues Telecom. The board found that the negotiations were not sufficiently advanced yet and will meet again by 03 April to examine the results of the discussions. Bouygues' board issued a nearly identical statement. "At its meeting of 30 March 2016, Bouygues' Board of Directors noted that the negotiations between Orange and Bouygues had not progressed sufficiently. Therefore, it will meet before the end of the weekend in order to make a final decision whether to pursue the merger plan or not."
