Peabody Energy Corp. has been notified by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality that it's still eligible for "self-bonding" for three mines in the state, providing its own financial assurances it can cover the costs to reclaim its mining operations. The company said in a regulatory filing Tuesday that its total required financial assurance for reclamation, as of March 31, was $2.09 billion.
