Pennsylvania's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly in May to 5.4 percent from 5.3 percent in April. A report Friday from the state Department of Labor and Industry showed that employers added 18,200 jobs - 8,900 jobs in education and health services and another 3,100 jobs in construction, which offset the loss of 1,000 jobs in mining and logging during the month.
