Pipeline developer seeks FERC okay

Kinder Morgan subsidiary Tennessee Gas Pipeline filed its formal application for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval of the Northeast Energy Direct Project, a $5 billion pipeline that would expand the supply of natural gas to Connecticut and New England from shale gas fields in Pennsylvania. Tennessee Gas plans to build a 133-mile pipeline from northern Pennsylvania to Wright, N.Y., and a 188-mile pipeline from there to Dracut, Mass.
