Publix clarifies benefits for married same-sex couples

Publix Super Markets Inc. clarified its new benefits policy on Thursday to say that same-sex couples need only provide a marriage certificate and birth certificate to obtain health insurance coverage for their children. Maria Brous, director of community and media relations, said that Publix offers health care coverage, including vision and dental, to eligible full and part-time associates and their dependents, including same-sex couples who are legally married.
