The first quarter revealed that retail revenues compared to expectations fared far worse than earnings expectations amongst apparel retailers, according to Ken Perkins of Retail Metrics. J Crew revealed a wider net loss due to the performance of its women's wear division, while Zumiez said results were in line with its expectations. Guess? revealed results that beat expectations, and Dollar General said it made "solid progress" implementing key initiatives.
