Qorvo , the company formed from the merger between Greensboro-based RF Micro Devices Inc. and Hillsboro, Ore.-based TriQuint Semiconductor Inc., supplied components on the New Horizons spacecraft that recently flew past Pluto after traveling 3 billion miles since its launch in 2006. Roger Hall, general manager of defense and space products at Qorvo , said that components from both RF Micro and TriQuint supported the spacecraft's communication system.
