Qorvo jumps 15 percent on solid quarter, stable outlook

Created at the beginning of the year by the combination of RF Micro Devices and Hillsboro-based TriQuint Semiconductor, Qorvo makes wireless chips for the iPhone, Samsung devices and for networking and defense equipment. Qorvo's chief executive works in RFMD's old offices in North Carolina, but several other top executives - and about 1,000 employees altogether - remain in Hillsboro.
