BIO and BIOCOM thanked Representative Scott Peters (D-CA) for introducing legislation, offered as amendment to be considered during House floor debate on Farm Bill, that would make renewable chemicals eligible for support in USDA Biorefinery Assistance Program. BIO's Brent Erickson called Peters "a strong champion for the industrial biotech sector," citing his support for renewable chemicals and work as advocate for policies to advance military biofuel production.
