Republic Services ordered to build barrier protecting nuclear waste

The EPA has ordered the building of an underground isolation barrier to protect buried nuclear waste from a smoldering underground fire in suburban St. Louis. Republic Services , which owns both landfills, will pay entirely for the construction, though it argues that there's no risk the fire will reach nuclear material.
