Roger Schrum can measure the poor quality of South Carolina's roads by the amount of repairs Sonoco makes to its trucks each year. “It costs us $4.5 million to $5 million on an annual basis,” Schrum, vice president of investor relations for the packaging giant, said during a recent television broadcast.
