Environmental Services is designing a project to replace and upsize a 215-foot segment of public sewer pipe on SE 34th Avenue between SE Steele and SE Insley streets. The public sewer main in SE 34th Avenue is 70 years old, and the concrete service laterals that connect private properties to the sewer main in this segment are deteriorating. Necessary replacement of the sewer pipes will reduce the possibility of costly breaks, sink holes, and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
