(Telecompaper) Samsung has unveiled the Ativ Tab 3 and Ativ Q tablets, both running Windows 8. The touchscreen devices come with the S-Pen to write on the screen and SideSync technology for sharing content with Android smartphones. Samsung describes the Ativ Tab 3 as the world's thinnest Windows 8 tablet. At 8.2 mm thick and 550 g in weight, the 10.1-in device ships with Office Home & Student and comes with a battery claimed to last up to 10 hours. The slim tablet is built around an Intel Atom Z2760 processor with 2GB of RAM and has a 64 GB hard drive. The Ativ Q features a hinge design enabling four functional modes. It sports a 13.3-in QHD+ screen, an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128 GB hard disk. The Ativ Q weighs 1.29 kg and is 13.9 mm thin. In addition to Windows 8, Samsung said the tablet will also support Android 4.2 and access to Android apps via Google Play. Samsung has not indicated any release dates for the new tablets.
