Blue and Green: Four new manmade gases, possibly derived from chemicals in insecticides and solvents, have been found to be damaging the ozone layer, which helps filter harmful ultraviolet rays. Three of the gases are chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and one is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC).
