ContiGuard Active Emergency Belt Control tightens seatbelts immediately prior to accident, reducing severity of possible injuries by up to 15%. Automatic tightening occurs via reversible electro-mechanical belt tensioner. For additional safety, car windows and sunroof also shut automatically to prevent objects from entering. For this function, driving status of vehicle is analyzed in Safety Control Unit (SCU) with help of vehicle dynamics sensors and signals from other surrounding sensors.
