Security Guard Killed While Patrolling Near Port of Oakland

A security contractor with Union Pacific Railroad was killed in a crash near the Port of Oakland on Sunday morning, a Union Pacific spokesman said. Securitas Security Services employee Harvey Jackson, 67, lost control of his company-issued pickup truck and crashed at 6:29 a.m. as he was patrolling an intermodal yard in the 1400 block of Middle Harbor Road, where cargo from port ships is loaded onto freight trains, Union Pacific spokesman Francisco Castillo said.
