Senate Approves Bill Weakening Oversight of Electric Rates

A bill that would weaken state oversight of the state's two largest electric utilities' rates is moving through the General Assembly. The Senate voted 32-6 Friday for a bill sponsored by Republican Sen. Frank Wagner that would exempt Dominion Virginia Power and Appalachian Power from comprehensive rate reviews for several years.
