Senior housing group expands footprint in North Carolina with $790M buy

Senior Housing Properties Trust has purchased 38 senior-living communities in 16 states, including North Carolina, in a move that greatly expands its national footprint. The Massachusetts-based real estate investment trust announced this week that it has purchased the properties from CNL Lifestyle Properties Inc., with the deal including 3,466 living units.
