Shazam launches song sharing with favourite artists

(Telecompaper) Music service Shazam unveiled a song-sharing feature that will enable end-users to view what songs are listened to on Shazam by around two dozen music artists, writes TechCrunch. This new social networking feature is available in the updated apps for iOS and Android which were released recently. Around 30 musicians or music bands who have approximately 600 million Shazam followers in total are taking part in the newly launched service. Hundreds of other artists will be added to the list in the near future, Shazam said. The launch of the new feature was announced prior to Apple's Apple Music service launch on 30 June. Shazam also unveiled a new feature called 'Shazam Counts' that lets end-users see the number of times a song has been "shazamed".
