(Telecompaper) Japanese mobile operator SoftBank has appointed Nikesh Arora as its vice-chairman and CEO of SoftBank Internet and Media Inc (SIMI), effective October. Arora joins SoftBank from Google, were he most recently served as chief business officer. In his new position, Arora will contribute to defining, implementing and managing SoftBank's global growth strategy. In addition, as CEO of SIMI he will be directly responsible for overseeing SoftBank's internet, telecommunications, media and global investment activities.
