Southwest, American airlines break all-time records with July traffic

If it seems as though Southwest and American airlines planes are fuller and there are more of them overhead, that's because there are. Both major airlines set records for their July traffic Dallas-based Southwest Airlines reported a monthly load factor of 87.7 percent in July, the highest in Southwest's 44-year history.
