Energy utility engineers for Spain’s recently expanded Cartagena Repsol Refinery have reported successful deployment of a special ion exchange (IX) process that was selected to help provide for demineralized (DI) water needed to increase the refinery’s utility steam production from 110 tons/hr to 400 tons/hr.By Cliff Lebowitz
