State wants comments on Southbridge landfill expansion

SOUTHBRIDGE – The state will hear concerns and complaints about the proposed expansion of the Southbridge landfill through Friday, Sept. 25. With the waste management company Casella Waste Systems filing a proposal to expand its site in Southbridge, the Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group says the quality of air and water in Southbridge, Charlton and Sturbridge are threatened.
