A late-winter storm dumped several inches of snow on North Texas overnight, grounding hundreds of flights, freezing DART trains in their tracks, jack-knifing multiple 18-wheelers and making motorists without 4-wheel-drive yearn for traction. At Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport , airlines on Thursday had proactively canceled about 275 departing flights, or about 25 percent of the day's schedule.
