(Telecompaper) T-Mobile US said it will later this year introduce Viacom channels and on-demand content to its subscribers. T-Mobile US last year announced plans to launch its own online TV and video service, following its acquisition of the Layer3 platform. The introduction of the service has taken longer than expected for the company, but it says now that it will first start an in-home TV service, "designed to replace cable for the 5G era" and then introduce mobile TV services beginning with Viacom as a cornerstone launch partner.
