TSA intensifies airport worker screening

The Transportation Security Administration will immediately begin checking the criminal records of airport workers every two years and bolster random screening during the workday, the secretary of Homeland Security announced Monday. The steps follow criminal charges in December against a Delta Air Lines worker in Atlanta and a former worker who allegedly helped smuggle loaded guns onto flights to be sold illegally in New York, according to the FBI affidavit.
