(Telecompaper) The Taiwanese government will start the second-stage auction of 4G mobile spectrum in the third quarter of 2015. The government expects to receive bids from six 4G operators, Want Daily reports, citing Shih Shih-hao, chairperson of Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC). The government expects to raise between TWD 15 billion (approximately USD 494 million) and TWD 30 billion (USD 989 million) from this auction. A total of 190 MHz of spectrum will be released, including 50 MHz for TDD-LTE technology and 140 MHz for FDD-LTE technology. As part of the first stage of Taiwan's 4G auction held in 2013, 270 MHz of spectrum was released for mobile broadband use, Shih said.
