(Telecompaper) Telecom Italia and six other companies have been fined a total of EUR 28 million by anti-trust regulator AGCM for anticompetitive conduct in the procedure for assigning network maintenance services. Telecom Italia and its external suppliers Alpitel, Ceit Impianti, Sielte, Sirti, Site and Valtellina were accused of collusion in relation to restoration of service operations resulting from a report by an end user, namely the operators Fastweb and Wind, between 05 July 2012 and 01 February 2013. Telecom Italia, which was handed a EUR 21.5 million fine, issued a statement saying it had acted lawfully and would be appealing to the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio, the main Italian administrative court of first instance, to demonstrate the non-existence of the alleged anticompetitive conduct.
