(Telecompaper) Swedish operator Telia announced that customers will no longer pay roaming fees when traveling in the Nordic and Baltic countries. In what the operator claims is a first in the region, national rates will apply for all calls, SMS, MMS and data from 17 December made in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This includes all mobile and broadband subscribers, both businesses and consumers. All customers will benefit from the change automatically and pay the same rates as under their national plan.
