(Telecompaper) Chinese mobile and internet services firm Tencent posted a profit for the fourth quarter of CNY 3.91 billion, up 13 percent year-on-year. Revenues grew 40 percent from Q4 2012 to CNY 16.97 billion with VAS revenues totalling CNY 11.932 billion, online advertising revenues coming in at CNY 1.50 billion, and e-commerce revenues totalling CNY 3.32 billion. The company ended Q4 with 808 million monthly active instant messaging accounts, and 355 monthly active Weixin and WeChat accounts. Monthly active Qzone accounts stood at 625 million but fee-based VAS subscriptions fell 15 percent year-on-year to 88.6 million due to rapid adoption among consumers of smartphones while Tencent historically focussed on PC and feature phones.
