BusinessGreen: Tesla's giant battery "Gigafactory" will be built in Nevada, the electric car pioneer confirmed yesterday. The 465,000 square metre, diamond-shaped facility going up near Reno is expected to be completed in 2017 and produce enough batteries for 500,000 Tesla cars by 2020. Tesla has also said it will be a "net zero energy factory", powered entirely by solar and wind energy.
