The Cost of Carbon: Economists urge Salem to make polluters pay

The Oregon House Committee on Energy and Environment holds a hearing April 14 on plans to tax carbon in order to reduce the state's greenhouse gas emissions. The economists released a letter of support April 14 in advance of a hearing in Salem on legislation requiring the state Department of Environmental Quality to adopt a carbon cap-and-dividend program.
