Venture-backed Aereo may be able to make some money as it is shutting down by auctioning off the technology behind its Web television service, The Wall Street Journal's Patrick Fitzgerald reports. The company's business model of allowing users to watch and record television on the Internet and mobile devices was dealt a death blow in June when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the service violated broadcasters' copyrights .
