Many people had never heard of SkipLagged.com until news broke in January that United Airlines and the Orbitz travel website were suing Aktarer Zaman, SkipLagged's 22-year-old founder, for damages. Zaman's sin in the eyes of the industry: to create a search engine that takes advantage of the fact that airlines often price connecting flights cheaper than non-stop flights.
