Jersey Central Power & Light crews are working to restore power to thousands of customers as strong winds brought by a cold front took down wires and trees. Wind gusts of up to 71 mph were recorded in Monmouth County; at Robert J. Miller Airpark, a maximum gust of 56 mph was recorded, according to the National Weather Service.
