Tiffany & Co is doing something it wouldn't have dreamed of when it was founded 178 years ago, in 1837 - featuring a gay couple in an advertising campaign. But the times and social mores are changing, which is why the jeweler has joined a list of major retailers - Banana Republic , J. Crew , Target and even J.C. Penney in reflecting the wide span of demographics it serves.
