Toronto stock market to advance, traders look to Fed minutes for rate hike hints

The Toronto stock market looked set for a fourth day of gains Wednesday, with commodity prices rising and traders awaiting the mid-afternoon release of the minutes from the most recent interest rate meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve. U.S. futures signalled a weak start to the session with the Dow Jones industrial futures up five points to 17,657, the Nasdaq futures rose 3.8 points to 4,241.8 and the S&P 500 futures added 0.1 of a point to 2,048.7. Investors will be looking to the contents of the minutes to for hints about when the Fed might start hiking rates from near zero, where they have been since the 2008 financial crisis.
