TransCanada plans to terminate purchase agreements from three of its Alberta coal-fired power plants due to the increasing cost of carbon emissions, while continuing its natural-gas and wind-power operations in the province. a TransCanada Corp. says three of its Alberta power plants will become unprofitable as a result of a change in provincial law, so it plans to terminate their power purchase agreements.
