Tropo, Cisco announce deal

Tropo, a company founded in Orlando that specializes in voice and messaging capabilities for app developers, is being purchased by Cisco, the companies announced recently. Tropo will become part of the Cisco Collaboration Technology Group, with the transaction expected to close by the end of the year, the companies said May 7. Chairman Jonathan Taylor of Orlando spun off Tropo as he sold Voxeo in 2013.
