(Telecompaper) Turkcell announced that its board approved a binding offer for buying TeliaSonera's stake in their Eurasian joint venture Fintur. Fintur includes mobile operators in Kazakhstan (Kcell), Azerbaijan (Azercell), Moldova (Moldcell) and Georgia (Geocell) and is already 41.45 percent owned by Turkcell. The Turkish oeprator said it would make an offer for TeliaSoner'a 58.55 percent in Fintur and the 24 percent TeliaSonera holds directly in Kcell. The company did not disclose any financial details of the bid. TeliaSonera announced in September 2015 that it plans to exit the Eurasian markets in order to concentrate on its Nordic operations.
