(Telecompaper) Turkey's telecommunications authority BTK announced that it sold a total 365.4 MHz frequency during the 4.5G tender held on 26 August to all the participants of the tender, namely Turkcell, Vodafone Turkey and Avea. The frequencies will be used for providing mobile internet speeds through IMT-Advanced technology also named 4.5G as of 1 April 2016. An income of EUR 3.356 billion was obtained, which is above the minimum value of tender by 46.04 percent as a result of the competitive environment. The total VAT included tender price was TRY 13 billion (EUR 3.960 billion). Subscribers who have 4.5G compatible mobile phones and SIM cards will start using the 4.5G service from 1 April 2016.
