Turkey scales up auto exports as domestic demand falls

The Turkish automobile industry scaled up its exports while the domestic market consistently slowed down in the first 10 months of this year, the country's Automotive Manufacturers' Association said on Monday. Since the Central Bank of Turkey introduced sharp interest rate hikes in late January of this year, which ultimately increased the price of cars via auto loans, automobile sales have been in a downwards spiral.
