U.S. Steel president and CEO Mario Longhi received compensation valued at $13.2 million last year, up from $5.6 million the previous year, according to a proxy statement being sent to shareholders. The compensation of Mr. Longhi, the architect of an aggressive efficiency campaign named the Carnegie Way, included stock and option awards valued at $7.5 million and $4 million in nonequity incentives.
