U.S. Steel sells 70K acres in Alabama

U.S. Steel Corp. has sold more than 70,000 acres in Birmingham and surrounding areas to a Mississippi company. Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel , one of Alabama's largest landowners, sold the property to Jackson, Miss.-based Valley Creek Land & Timber in a $56.6 million deal, according to public records.
